I have visited Vietnam 3 times but I have only visited Hoi An, Sapa, and Hanoi and heard my friends suggest a Mekong Delta tour with its four seasons fruit grove as well as a peaceful suburb. This piqued my curiosity and on this visit to Vietnam, I decided to visit Ho Chi Minh City and visit Mekong Delta.

My husband and two children accompanied me on this trip and I think this will be an interesting and memorable trip for them. We took a plane to Tan Son Nhat airport - Ho Chi Minh City on August 18, 2023, took a short break for food, and decided to visit the Mekong Delta for the day. I searched on Google about how to get around and the bus to the Mekong Delta and found a very interesting tour at  Ben Tre-Mekong Delta Tour 1 Day. This tour was rated 4.8/5 so I contacted them. My first impression was quite good as they were very quick to pick us up at the hotel and set off right away.

To be honest, I'm quite fed up with walking around the city and want to find a new feeling in the suburbs. I remember traveling about 3-4 hours from Ho Chi Minh City to Ben Tre. There was a bit of rain along the way so I was quite worried about being able to take a boat on the river if it rained or not. But fortunately, the rain was short and stopped soon after. The first attraction is the coconut kingdom, where there are rows of coconut trees around the river. I was introduced to Ben Tre the coconut land of Vietnam and there are many specialties from coconut made here. We tasted coconut candy and drank fresh coconut water, I have never had such a sweet coconut, it was amazing! My family and I were able to ride a small boat on the river with a gentle breeze and also witnessed the scene of people living on the boat. They catch fish and go pick coconuts, that's their job. The tour activities are also quite good with visiting the fruit garden and tasting the fruits of the region. My favorite stop is to visit the traditional coconut candy factory and try the coconut candy. This is a fun experience that I think is hard to find anywhere else, especially since your kids will surely love this candy-making experience too. Lunch is also quite good, I give 4.5/5 for what I remember they call Banh Xeo-Vietnamese pancake, crispy on the outside and with meat shrimp inside.

My rating for this experience is good, surpassing expectations. If you intend to visit Ben Tre-Mekong Delta, please refer to my article and let me know what you think! If you want to go on your own, you can. Ben Tre's location is Ben Tre City, You can find bus routes from Ho Chi Minh City to come here but I think if you are traveling with a group and family, take a tour like me because you will enjoy much better services.

Hi. Thank you for sharing. I like traveling, but I haven’t been to Vietnam yet. I plan to go there later.
